We are excited to welcome August Maulfair to the Student Basic Needs Coalition (SBNC) team as our new Campus Program Manager. August joins us as our third full-time employee, bringing deep experience in food equity, a sharp systems-thinking lens, and an unwavering commitment to student dignity and access.
They come to SBNC with a strong background in both campus and community-based food justice work, including food pantry strategy and design and the development of SNAP access programs at local farmers markets. As Campus Program Manager, August will lead the implementation of SBNC’s campus-facing initiatives and directly support community partners and campus leaders in building systems that ensure every student has access to the resources they need to thrive. They’ll play a key role in onboarding and training new student leaders, and in strengthening our referral systems and data tracking infrastructure.
August’s strategic mindset and values-based approach are already making an impact. They are especially excited to help institutionalize SNAP eligibility screening processes at colleges across the country and to support implementation of tools like Navvy. They are also deeply appreciative of SBNC’s commitment to staying aligned with best practices in an ever-evolving basic needs landscape.
Please join us in welcoming August to SBNC! We are honored to have them on our team and look forward to the ways their leadership will strengthen and scale our collective work.
